how can i install linux on my computer that is currently using windows?
how can i make a dual boot system.
everytime i try to install linux it says there is a hardware error.

    You need to have unused space on a hard drive so Linux can create the partitions it needs. Your entire drive has been partitioned for Windows. Now, you could use a partitioning utility to resize your Windows partition but you are likely better off just adding another drive and installing Linux on that.

    First off, "everytime i try to install linux it says there is a hardware error", needs to be elaborated on. What does the hardware error say? What kind of machine is it and which distribution of GNU/Linux are you trying to install?
